Cops in Atlantic City say a man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that happened just before Memorial Day weekend and he is now facing an attempted murder charge.

26-year-old Daquan Cook of Atlantic City has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, on May 27th, officers responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division after a man arrived there with multiple stab wounds arrived.

Cops say the victim, identified only as being 28-years-old and from Rio Grande, was stabbed after being in a fight in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue.

An investigation identified Daquan Cook as the person responsible for the stabbing and charges were filed. The ACPD says, "less than 25 minutes after alerting police officers to Cook’s warrant, Sergeant Richard Andrews located Cook and arrested him without incident."

Cook is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
