Atlantic County Animal Shelter Waiving Adoption Fees Until 2/16
Did you know that owning a dog has proven to improve a person's heart health?
According to a press release from the Atlantic County Animal Shelter, studies conducted by the Harvard Medical school have shown that dog owners, on average, have lower blood pressure and usually get more exercise than non-owners.
So in honor of American Heart Month, the Atlantic County Animal Shelter will be waiving their $110 adoption fees until Sunday, February 16th.
“For those who are considering dog ownership, this is yet another benefit of having a forever friend,” stated Kathy Kelsey, Atlantic County Animal Shelter Manager.
This deal is only applicable for dogs that are ready to be adopted immediately.
All pets that are adopted will have their mandatory sterilizations, age-appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and a free veterinary consultation. Dogs will also receive two free obedience classes.
The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville and their hours are as follows: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7 days a week. The only exception is that they close at 3:00 PM on Tuesdays.
