In a Facebook post Monday, Brigantine Police announced that trick-or-treating would be happening this year on Sat, Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 8pm.

Police made it clear that parents would still have the final say on whether they allowed their children to trick-or-treat this year.

Parents - it is up to you to decide whether or not you feel comfortable with your children participating in trick or treating this year. Please still ensure that you and your children abide by the guidelines in place to include masks, social distancing, and proper sanitizing.

Brigantine residents also may decide if they want to hand out candy or not. Police advise anyone who is not interested in participating to keep their door shut and front light off as a sign that you are not participating this year.

Police ask that if you do participate, you also follow the suggested guidelines for masks, social distancing, and sanitizing.
