When the teams in  the South Jersey Field of Dreams play games on their Fall Ball schedule this Saturday, Sept. 14, players will have a new and very unique tool at their disposal for the first time.

The Egg Harbor Township Pal Robotics team will be unveiling a robotic arm that will enable handicapped kids who play at the South Jersey Field of Dreams to play ball!

The South Jersey Field of Dreams is a place where physical and mentally disabled children and adults can play and participate in the great American pastime, baseball.

Each week, members of the local community come out to volunteer their time on the field as one-on-one buddies for the players. Last spring, the EHT PAL Robotics team volunteered at a game and loved the experience so much they wanted to do more.

The members of EHT PAL, made up of kids from different South Jersey middle and high schools, spent their summer developing a robotic pitching arm that would allow players who don’t have full use of their arm to be able to “throw” a ball on their own.

Everyone is welcome to see this robotic arm make its debut during Saturday's series of games, beginning at 11am at the South Jersey Field of Dreams, 1000 Morton Ave in Absecon.
