Hit and Run Accident Destroys Popular Farm Stand in Gloucester County, NJ
A hit and run accident involving a dump truck completely destroyed a farm stand located on Route 322 in Gloucester County.
The owner of Murphy's Farm Market in Woolwich Township is devastated by the accident, not just emotionally but financially.
Jacob Stecher tells 6abc.com, "This is my business, this is how I pay my bills, this is how I feed my family. I donate food to the needy, the churches. It's not just me. This affects a lot of people."
It was Monday morning when a dump truck rammed into the once beautiful and vibrant Murphy's and fled the scene. The farm market was left collapsed.
Luckily, the truck and the accident were captured on surveillance video, so hopefully that will lead police to the driver responsible.
But we're headed into farmer's market and Jersey Fresh produce season in South Jersey, so I completely understand how worried Murphy's owner must be.
While Jacob Stecher works out the logistics of how to rebuild his farm market, nearby Dalton Farms has come to the rescue, temporarily providing him space to sell his goods, 6abc.com reports.
If you have any information that could help police find the dump truck and/or the driver, please contact Woolwich Twp. Police Department at (856) 467-1667.
