The first official day of winter isn't until Saturday, December 21st. The days are already starting to get shorter and shorter. Winter is coming and before you know it, we'll need the gloves, scarves, and winter shovels.

Last winter we were pretty lucky and we dodged more than one snowstorm. This winter  may be a different story.

Some forecasters are predicting a cold, wet and wild winter with above average snow, and the potential for more storms this winter season.

The latest winter prediction comes from the folks at AccuWeather according to a report from NJ.com. Get ready for a stormy winter session including snow, ice and mixed precipitation. Winter's icy grip won't take hold of us until early 2020 according to the report.

I'm not really a snow lover. I'd be happy with a couple of inches of snow on December 24th only, and if it were up to me, that would be it for the entire winter!

Our Lite Rock meteorologist Dan Zarrow will also keep you up to date on any winter weather headed our way.
