Denny Levinson: “We built it and they did come"
Atlantic County Executive Denny Levinson took a victory lap in the press release announcing the contract for the second EHT Technology Center building.
“The first building is fully occupied and continues to attract interest. Space was recently modified to accommodate three new tenants. We built it and they did come, despite the naysayers. And now we are building again as demand grows to take advantage of the assets we have here in Atlantic County.”
The 58-acre park is adjacent to Atlantic City International Airport and the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, giving it real-time, high-speed connectivity to FAA data systems and laboratories
The Aerospace Research and Technology Park is the state’s only designated aviation district.
Present Occupants
Occupants of the first building include General Dynamics, Woolpert, the National Institute of Aerospace, the FAA, and the Atlantic County Institute of Technology.
According to Atlantic County, General Dynamics consolidated its space to provide space for two new tenants:
Applied Research Associates, a federal scientific research and engineering contractor, and Quecon, Inc., an engineering consultant.
A third new tenant, Signature Sciences, took the space previously occupied by Thunderbolt.
An online ad for the complex highlights the tenant amenities, state-of-the-art video conference room and meeting space, and a 6,000-SF rooftop deck and convenience to local major highways.
Funding for the Building
Atlantic County says that the funding for the second building will come from federal, state, and county money including a $3 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration; a $5 million grant from the NJ Department of Community Affairs; $2.5 million from Atlantic County; and an anticipated $8 million investment from the NJ Economic Development Authority.
