Call me a pizza snub if you must, but there's a trend going on in the pizza world, and I need to get something off my chest.

One of the many things we love about pizza is the versatility of it.

You can put just about anything on them, and it tastes delicious.

Some of the more popular toppings people like on their pizza are things like,

🍕  Pepperoni

🍕  Peppers

🍕  Onions

🍕  Sausage

🍕  Olives

A less popular, but still acceptable topping is anchovies.  A very salty kind of fish.  People either love it or hate it.

Then you have the next level of toppings.

These are less traditional but still understandable and we can agree are acceptable to the palet.

Toppings in that group are the,

🍕  Buffalo Chicken

🍕  Veggie

🍕  Margherita

Then you have what people are referring to as exotic toppings.

These are the new-age of toppings.

I'm not suggesting these aren't tasty food items, but at some point, when does a pizza stop being a pizza?

Are we as a society abusing the versatility that makes pizza great?

People have come to put just about anything on a pizza.

Among the items in question,

🚫Pineapple

🚫Banana

🚫Kiwi

What do all three have in common?

They are all fruit.

Simply put, fruit has its place at the dinner table, but not on a pizza.

I love clams, shrimp, and tuna, but they belong on pasta, not pizza.

It's time to take a stand for tradition.

Just say no to crazy pizza toppings.
