The Four Richest People in New Jersey

The Forbes 400, a ranking by Forbes magazine of the 400 richest people in America for 2025, has just been released.

Forbes says, collectively, they are worth more than they have ever been, a record $6.6 trillion after getting $1.2 trillion richer since 2024's list was released.

Before we take a look at New Jersey's four inclusions on the list, here are a couple of rich tidbits about other people on the list you will recognize.

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is the richest person in America and the world,  with an estimated $428 billion net worth.

He is followed by Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison ($276 billion), Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($253 billion), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($241 billion), and Google cofounder Larry Page ($179 billion), rounding out the top five richest people in America.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie is at #191 on the list with a $7.6 billion net worth, up more than $2 billion from last year.

#4- Brian Venturo, 40, the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer for the Livingston, NJ.-based cloud computing company, CoreWeave, is fourth-richest in New Jersey and # 352 on the national list with a net worth of $4.2 billion.

#3- Peter Kellogg, 83, of Short Hills, NJ, sold brokerage house Spear, Leeds & Kellogg to Goldman Sachs for $6.5 billion in cash and stock in 2000.

He ranks at #298 in America with a net worth of $5.1 billion.

#2-  Rocco Commisso, 75, and his family live in Saddle River. Commisso, who migrated to America from Italy at age 12, is the founder and CEO of cable company Mediacom.

His net worth of $5.6 billion puts him at #270 in the Forbes 400 this year.

#1- John Overdeck, 56, lives in Millburne, Essex County. Overdeck is the cofounder of Two Sigma, a quantitative investing firm with $60 billion in assets under management.

His net worth, as the richest man in New Jersey, is $8 billion, putting him at #172 on the national list.
