Ed Sheeran Reportedly Breaks Attendance Record at the Linc in Philly, PA
Ed Sheeran took the stage at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Saturday night, and when he did, he reportedly broke the stadium's single-event attendance record.
Although not in competition with his good friend, TAKE THAT TAYLOR SWIFT! Lol.
Ed shared the news with fans during his Subtract Tour stop where 70,000 fans sang along to a 27-song setlist. Oh, and gotta love that he donned an Eagles jersey during 'Shape of You'.
Whereas Taylor Swift, who spent three nights at the Linc May 12th through 14th, blocked out a portion of the stadium's seating because of her stage setup, Sheeran was in the round. So, he had to sell seats all the way around the stadium as well as on the floor, and that's even more people than would be in attendance for a Philadelphia Eagles game. Impressive.
Ed recently set a new attendance record at Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta before traveling to Philly, according to melodicmag.com.
On Friday night, Sheeran hosted a more intimate show to about 3,400 fans at The Met off Broad Street where he played his new album Subtract from start to finish, as well as a few fan favorites like 'Perfect'.
