They were teammates who won a World Series together. Now former Philadelphia Phillies Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins could possibly be getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame together.

The year 2008 is seared into my memory. That's the year the Phillies won the World Series. Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins were two players who were integral to that victory.

Jimmy Rollins, a consummate shortstop and team leader. Chase Utley, a measured, standout of a second baseman. Both heavy hitters during at-bats.

This upcoming Baseball Hall of Fame induction will be the third time Rollins gets a chance in, while it's Utley's inaugural mention on the ballot, reports Philadelphia Inquirer Sports. They were lauded as one of the National League's best midfield-infield pairs and worked together seamlessly. They performed some of the best double-plays Phils fans have ever seen.

Utley, a six-time All Star, spent 12 seasons with the Phillies before moving on the Los Angeles Dodgers. He retired from professional baseball after the 2008 season.

Rollins, the NL MVP of 2007, spent 15 seasons in Philly, 2000-2014, before also becoming a Dodger and then White Sox. He retired in 2016.

I rarely think of one without the other. 'J-Roll' and the 'Silver Fox'.

Both of these Phillies racked up awards over the span of their careers. It certainly would be amazing to see them add 'Hall of Fame inductee' to their resumes.

We'll find out the Baseball Hall of Fame fate of Utley and Rollins when the inductees announcement is officially made on January 23, 2024.
