Gloucester Township, NJ Native Wins 3rd Super Bowl with Kansas City Chiefs
Did you know there was a South Jersey native with the Kansas City Chiefs besides Vineland's Isiah Pacheco that just won another Super Bowl?
Who Is Dan Williams?
Dan Williams grew up in Sicklerville in Gloucester Township, New Jersey and is an alum of Timber Creek High School. He graduated in 2014.
Williams was a record-breaking quarterback for Timber Creek's Chargers football team, passing for 3,345 yards in a single season, according to Patch.com.
Williams also helped take the Chargers to the 2012 New Jersey State Group-4 Football Championship game.
Ties to the Philadelphia Eagles
Growing up in South Jersey, not only was Dan Williams a Philadelphia Eagles FAN, his very own father, Ted Williams, spent time coaching under Andy Reid's Birds for many of his nearly 20 seasons in Philly.
Transition to the NFL
In 2019, Dan Williams joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a coaching intern, Patch.com reports. In 2020, Williams was officially promoted to the coaching staff.
The Man Behind Patrick Mahomes?
Since then, Williams has become an assistant quarterback's coach to Dave Girardi as well as a member of the Chiefs offensive quality control team. Alongside Girardi, Williams has mentored phenom Patrick Mahomes to become one of the best and youngest QB's in NFL history.
Third Times the Charm
It's a good thing Dan Williams has 10 fingers, lol, because three of his digits will now be occupied by the Super Bowl Championship rings he helped give Kansas City Chiefs in the last half decade.
Williams, under Andy Reid, helped Mahomes achieve their 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas on February 11th.
