New Jersey’s Top 5 Beaches Are All at the South Jersey Shore

Not only did the South Jersey Shore represent on a new list of the best beaches in New Jersey, it dominated the top 5. Check out where your favorite beach town ranks.

The folks at USA Today always have their heads down crunches numbers to come up with lists ranking the top of everything. Hey, doing research like that for work isn't a bad job if you can get it.

For its latest list, USA Today ranked the best beaches in New Jersey. What's evident is that if you want THE best of the BEST of what the Garden State has to offer you need to travel all the way south.

The top 10 was reportedly compiled by an 'expert panel' of judges, Patch.com reports, and voted on by USA Today readers.

New Jersey's Top 5 Beaches Are All in South Jersey, According to New List

While a few beach at the North and Central Jersey Shore appear in USA's Today's Top 10, South Jersey dominates the list. More than 50 percent of the top 10 belongs to the South Jersey Shore.

Now, on to USA Today's Top 5 Best Beaches in New Jersey. Given some recent negative headlines, you might be surprised what landed at #1, but pleased with the compliments the publication pays the South Jersey shore town.

Here are some of the positive words USA Today used to describe The Wildwoods:

“Featuring the largest stretches of sand on the Jersey Shore (500 yards wide at points), The Wildwoods provide plenty of space for beachgoers to spread out."

 

USA Today goes on to praise its top pick, writing, “In fact, they offer a unique beach taxi service that brings visitors from the boardwalk to a spot closer to the ocean to set up their chairs and umbrellas. On the beach, guests can play volleyball, surf, boogie board, or just play in the waves. Surrounded by iconic retro architecture, the legendary Wildwood Boardwalk is a big entertainment hub, offering an electric vibe day and night.”
