Earthquakes are not something New Jersey residents are used to, but we've now officially experienced two in one day.

New Jersey had a serious case of the shakes on Friday.

What a day THIS has been?! An earthquake in New Jersey? Of THIS magnitude? The last time something like this happened was in the early 1970s, according to ABC7 NY! It's all anyone's been talking about out of sheer stun.

It was late morning Friday, April 5th, 10:23 a.m., that an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale was felt all over the Garden State as well as in Philadelphia, PA and New York.

The quake's epicenter was in Lebanon in Hunterdon County.

The event grounded flights out of New Jersey and put New Jersey Transit trains on delay, according to Patch.com. There have been no reports so far of any injuries.

Second Earthquake in Two Hours Hits New Jersey

The state's Emergency Operations Center was also activated and maybe for good reason.

Around noon, the seismograph detected a second earthquake registered in Bedminster, Somerset County, New Jersey about six miles west of Lebanon. This one was smaller than the one that occurred two hours early measuring at a 2.0, United States Geological Survey reports.
