2018 Pleasantville High School football alum Mohamed Toure is leaving the Garden State after six years for the Sunshine State to play his final college football season.

Toure, who missed the entire 2024 season with an ACL injury, is heading to the University of Miami to play for the Hurricanes.  The two-time team captain also missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL injury.

At Miami, he joins former Rutgers linebackers coach Corey Hetherman, who is now the Hurricanes' defensive coordinator.  He served as the linebackers coach at Rutgers during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

He was considered one of the top linebackers in the NCAA Transfer portal with interest from top programs like Penn State, Indiana, and North Carolina.

During the 2023 season, Toure showed what kind of impact he can have on the Scarlet Knights' defense, notching 93 tackles (9.5 for loss) with 4.5 sacks and one interception, helping Rutgers win the Pinestripe Bowl Game that season. In that Bowl win over Miami, Toure had two tackles-for-loss, a sack, and eight tackles.

As a sophomore, he totaled 52 tackles with eight for loss and 4.5 sacks playing in all 13 games with eight starts at linebacker.

During this Rutgers career, the Pleasantville native has racked up 167 tackles, 23 for loss, and 13.5 sacks.

While at Pleasantville, Toure was part of the Greyhounds' return to football prominence under former head coach Chris Sacco, helping guide the Greyhounds to an 8-3 record as a senior.

His senior season, he dominated on the football field, recording 69 tackles, including 10 for loss with five sacks, and as a running back, he ran for 981 yards and 11 touchdowns.
