2-vehicle Crash Snarls Rush Hour Traffic in Northfield, NJ
A two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Northfield had an impact on folks making their way home late Tuesday afternoon.
The accident, involving a pair of SUVs, happened at Tilton Road and Burton Avenue around 3:30.
Authorities have not released any details; as of this writing, the scene was still being cleared, however, one SUV had front-end damage while a Jeep SUV had overturned with airbag deployment.
At about 4:15, the black SUV was uprighted.
Traffic on Tilton Road was being detoured through local neighborhoods over to Route 9.
Assisting the Northfield Police Department were the Northfield Fire Department and the Linwood Police Department.
It was back in September when I was sitting at that intersection and I caught on dashcam a driver failing to stop for the red light.
Luckily, a kid who was on a bike at that intersection was paying attention, otherwise, there would have been a tragic outcome.
Let both of these incidents serve as a reminder to slow down, pay attention to stop signs and traffic signals, and drive safely.
