
Atlantic City, NJ, Police Make Arrest in Shooting of 3 Teenagers
Under the leadership of Chief Jim Sarkos, the Atlantic City Police Department continues to make progress in de-escalating the violence in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The latest example involves the arrest of a suspect now charged with the shooting that wounded 3 teenagers.
The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following details about the shouting and subsequent arrest:
On April 14, 2025, detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit were conducting surveillance in the 1400 block of Michigan Avenue when they observed Jamal Miller exit a residence. Miller was wanted following an investigation by detectives into a shooting incident that occurred in March. After observing Miller enter, the department's SWAT team responded and executed a court authorized search warrant. Miller was taken into custody without incident, said the Atlantic City Police Department.
The shooting took place on March 21, 2025, in the neighborhood of the 1500 block of Michigan Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
A ShotSpotter alert confirmed the shooting and witness reports provided the information that 3 teenagers had been wounded in the shooting.
“Arriving officers located the injured victims and began rendering medical aid. One victim was immediately transported by officers to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division. Two other victims were transported by medical person-nel. All of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” said the Atlantic City Police Department.
The victims were attending a party, when two suspects began shooting.
Jamal Miller, 20 years old, from Atlantic City, New Jersey has been arrested on a myriad of charges.
CHARGES INCLUDE:
- Attempted murder.
- conspiracy (two counts).
- unlawful possession of a weapon (two counts).
- possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (two counts).
- aggravated assault (10 counts).
- endangering the welfare of a child.
- possession of a large capacity magazine.
