Brigantine, N.J. — A three-story home at the northern end of Brigantine was heavily damaged by fire late Sunday night, displacing five people.

Brigantine Fire & EMS said they were called to 1306 East Beach Avenue at around 11:40 PM to find flames tearing through multiple floors of the six-bedroom single-family home.

By the time they arrived, everyone inside had already gotten out safely.

Nearly two dozen firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and they kept it from spreading to neighboring homes.

Atlantic City Fire Department sent Engine 2 and Battalion 1 to assist.

One resident suffered minor injuries, was treated at the scene, but declined to be taken to a hospital for further treatment. No firefighters were hurt.

Three vehicles on the property were also damaged.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and it is not considered to be suspicious.
