Officials with the Absecon Police Department say in the span of 72 hours, 11 people were arrested in an operation focused on criminal activity along the Route 30 motel/hotel corridor.

These establishments have become safe havens for those wanted by law enforcement.

The Absecon Police Department says they took action after noticing a significant increase in violent and drug-related crimes.

From their efforts,

  • Nine narcotic-related arrests including cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. One of the arrests resulted in a seizure of nearly 2 ounces of methamphetamine. The subject was charged with distribution of narcotics.
  • A notable arrest involved a subject who had been previously charged and failed to appear in court for aggravated assault against a 2-month-old child.
The results of this operation show the necessity for continued enforcement efforts along this corridor.

Police did not release any names or further details of the arrests as their investigations are ongoing.
