Galloway Twp., NJ, Man Gets a Decade Behind Bars For Fentanyl
A Galloway Township man is headed to state prison on a drug charge.
On Monday, 40-year-old Robert Gunter was sentenced to ten years behind bars after pleading guilty to second-degree possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute.
Gunter’s codefendant, 20-year-old Ibin Ingrum of Galloway Township, was previously sentenced on charges of second-degree possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and second-degree unlawful possession of a community gun. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.
The convictions of Ingrum and Gunter arose from a residential search warrant executed in Galloway Township in July of 2022.
In an upstairs bedroom of a home, police found a safe that contained a mixture of over three ounces of fluorofentanyl, despropionyl fluorofentanyl, fluorophenethyl 4-ANPP, and xylazine.
Additionally, inside the safe were ten wax folds packaged for sale which contained a mixture of fluorofentanyl, fentanyl, phenethyl 4-ANPP, and xylazine; a baggie containing approximately one ounce of methamphetamine; two digital scales; and documents bearing the names of Ingrum and Gunter.
In the upstairs and attic area, authorities located two guns, ammunition, and extended-capacity magazines.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says Gunther was enrolled in recovery court at the time he possessed the fentanyl and the State successfully opposed his application to re-enroll in that program rather than serve time in prison.
Gunter will be eligible for parole after serving four years.
