Governor of New Jersey: Will This Republican Support The Winner?
Last Wednesday, the Republican candidates for Governor of New Jersey faced off in a lively debate.
An interesting question was raised … Would each of the candidates pledge to support the ultimate Republican winner … following the June 10, 2025 Primary Election?
Jack Ciattarelli and Jon Bramnick didn’t hesitate and immediately confirmed that they would support the winner.
The usually negative Bill Spadea did not answer the question and instead tried to turn the question on Ciattarelli … falling flat with a comment about Ciattarelli not wanting his or President Trump’s support in 2021.
SPADEA IS PRESIDENT TRUMP’S WORST CRITIC IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY FIELD
No doubt, Spadea is the harshest past critic of President Trump in the current Republican field. And, that’s saying a lot when super duper, anti-Trumper Jon Bramnick is in the same field.
In case you’ve forgotten, here are some of Spadea’s previous attacks against President Trump:
I've said this before, President Trump failed.
I do not want him to run again.

THERE’S MORE FROM SPADEA ABOUT TRUMP
Bill Spadea wrote an opinion - editorial on January 14, 2021. This was just 6 days before Spadea thought that President Trump was leaving The Presidency forever:
He's beaten. He's tired. He would have been better off resigning the office…. Pray that we eventually elect a president with the strength, courage and commitment to the Constitution and the American way of life to ignore the polls, the optics and the haters and be tough enough to fight, wrote Spadea.
IS A PRESIDENT TRUMP ENDORSEMENT COMING?
President Trump has made most of his endorsements known in the 2025 Republican Primary Election cycle.
Thus far, President Trump has not made an endorsement in the New Jersey Republican Primary for Governor.
In the end, President Trump may, or, he may not make an endorsement.
Spadea has tried hard to magically “erase” the record regarding his previous over-the-top critical comments about President Trump. To no avail.
DEVASTATING POLL FOR SPADEA
Polling data has also been bad news for Spadea throughout this campaign. A “Kitchen Table Conservatives” poll that was conducted earlier in the campaign gave Ciattarelli a commanding 33-point lead over Spadea.
The tabulars inside the poll were even more devastating for Spadea than the overall 33-point blowout, as follows:
- 67% less likely to vote for him when they learned that he said, "President Trump failed. I don't want him to run again... it is time for new blood.”
- 72% were less likely when they were told that Spadea told Republicans not to vote in the 2021 Governor’s election.
- 62% less likely when advised that Spadea previously said: "I am a little more liberal than my conservative friends. I do believe in amnesty. I do believe in a pathway to citizenship. Not a good statement in the year 2025 and during the Age of Trump 2.0
- 63% were less likely to back Spadea after he urged folks to contribute to Chris Christie’s presidential campaign, in order to help Christie qualify for a podium on the presidential debate stage.
We’ve entered “crunch time” for Decision 2025 on the Republican side.
With one month to go, Ciattarelli has a large lead … but, is running smart like he’s behind.
For Spadea, this looks like it will end like his previous attempts at public elective office.
