Circumstances Surrounding The Discovery
Egg Harbor Township Police Chief Frederick Spano confirmed the following:
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at dawn, Egg Harbor Township Police responded to a wooded area near the intersection of Tilton and Delilah Roads to investigate the discovery of human remains. A local resident located a portion of the skeleton. With the assistance of a cadaver canine unit from the New Jersey State Parks Police, the rest of the skeletal remains were located nearby, said the Egg Harbor Township Police Chief Frederick Spano.
Additional Facts About This Recovery
The recovery of the skeletal remains was completed by the Atlantic County Medical Examiner's Office.
The identity of the decedent and how he/she died is pending the results of a forensic examination.
This case is a joint investigative effort of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
