
Lower Twp., NJ, Man Facing Charges After SWAT Team Raid
- A SWAT team raided a home in Cape May County on Friday
- Authorities say they recovered drugs, cash, and other items
- One local man is now facing multiple serious charges
SWAT Team Raid in Lower Township
A Lower Township man is facing charges after a SWAT team raid on Friday.
The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office says several law enforcement agencies visited the home of 48-year-old Darryl Jones of Villas following an investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances.
Officials say that from their work, they seized approximately 100 bags of heroin, over 1/2-ounce of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and about $1,300 cash.
Charges Filed Against Darryl Jones
Jones is now facing the following charges:
- Second-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine in an Amount More Than One Half Ounce
- Third-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin in an Amount less Than One Half Ounce
- Second-degree Possession of CDS within 500 Feet of a Public Place
- Third-degree Possession of Cocaine
- Third-degree Possession of Heroin
- Fourth-degree Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Third-degree Money Laundering
After being processed, Jones was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
Under New Jersey law, those convicted of a second-degree crime face a prison term of five to ten years.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a press release,
We will continue to collaborate closely with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to combat the spread of dangerous drugs and protect our communities.
