
Shooting on NJ Turnpike After Crash in Bergen County
- Crash on the NJ Turnpike turned into a shooting late Thursday night
- Two suspects with handguns attacked men inside another car and fired a shot
- State Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators
Shooting on NJ Turnpike Under Investigation
State troopers asking for help as they investigate a shooting on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Authorities say the incident happened at 11:41 PM in Leonia, Bergen County.
That's when they received a report of an accident and aggravated assault on the northbound side of the highway at milepost 121.2.
Investigation
According to a preliminary investigation by state police, a white Acura TL with a New York license plate was involved in a minor rear-end collision with an unknown vehicle.
The unknown vehicle rear-ended the Acura while traveling north on the Turnpike in standstill traffic.
Two suspected Black men in the unknown vehicle got out with handguns and they began to assault the two men Hispanic men in the Acura, firing at least one round at their car.
The suspects re-entered their vehicle, fled the scene, and continued north before troopers arrived.
