On the Cat Country Morning Show, Jahna and I touched on the topic of dreams.

According to a study, the average person dreams four different dreams every night.

That sounds like a lot doesn't it?

Many people claim to not dream at all, but experts say everyone dreams, but not everyone can remember their dreams.

I've always remembered bits and pieces of dreams. Usually not the whole dream, and usually not a lot of detail. I might remember bits and pieces of one or two dreams a week, on average.

But then, came the couch.

You might have heard us discuss this couch on the air. It's been "in the family" in our building for as long as I've been working here - 23+ years. It's been in different offices and sitting areas over the years, but for the last few, it's had a home in my office.

It didn't look new 23 years ago, so I'm guessing it's at least 40 years old. It's big and sturdy - built at a time when things like it were built to last.

Anyway, a few years ago I closed my office door and took a quick nap.

It feels silly to write this: that moment was almost life-changing.

I took about a 30-minute nap, and it seemed like the best short nap I've ever had! Not only did I rest, but I dreamed a very vivid dream.

Since then, I've taken random naps on that couch, and almost each and every time, it's literally magical! Whatever sleep I'm lacking, I seem to catch up on it with a short burst of napping.  I also dream, very good dreams!

They're not sex dreams or anything like that, they are just good, happy dreams that make me feel good when I wake up!

I'm not the only one, either. Some of my co-workers have "borrowed" the couch for a quick nap, and I hear the same things from them.

What's with this couch?

Honestly, it's not the couch I'd pick out if I were buying a couch. It's really basic and has very uncomfortable armrests. There aren't even any pillows! When I take a nap, I roll up a couple of old t-shirts that I found in our prize closet!

My question to you: Do you notice you have different or more vivid dreams based on where you sleep? Is there something to be said about a different piece of furniture than one is used to? If you can provide any insight, please reach out! My email is joe.kelly@townsquaremedia.com.

In the meantime, that couch is calling my name. It's naptime!
