A Princeton man has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after Cape May City Police say he struck someone with a pint glass during an argument in the Ugly Mug Bar & Restaurant.

According to a news release, on Thursday, October 7, Justin M. Gelbman, 38, of Princeton, Mercer County, was involved in a verbal dispute that turned into a physical altercation in the Ugly Mug Bar on the Washington Street Mall in Cape May.

During the fight, Gelbman struck the victim in the head with a pint glass that resulted in injury to the victim.

Police say that Gelbman left the scene and was taken into custody by the responding officers of the Cape May Police Department’s Patrol Division.

The condition and identity of the victim were not made available by the police.

Gelbman has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
