New Jersey’s Favorite Coffee Flavor Revealed on National Coffee Day
September 29th marks National Coffee Day. Do you think you could guess what coffee flavor java drinkers in New Jersey favor most?
Happy National Coffee Day to you!
If you rely on a cup of joe to motivate you to get your day started, you're probably celebrating today.
I'm kind of a latte snob, but when it comes to drinking just a cup of coffee, I take mine black. No cream, no sugar. Just give it to me straight up and HOT. It's got to be HOT, like, Miranda Priestly hot.
But apparently I'm in the minority! Because, according to new research, the Garden State likes a little variety in their coffee.
The minds at Versa Networks (the modern secure network blog) just dropped some piping hot stats on the most popular coffee flavor by state. Versa Networks reportedly analyzed Google Trends and searches for a period of a year regarding several coffee flavors to come up with its rankings.
Do you think folks in New Jersey go for vanilla flavored coffee?
It's fall, maybe pumpkin spice?
How about mocha? My mom and best friend ADORE the chocolaty taste.
Far and away, the #1 most chosen flavored coffee in the United States is caramel.
But not in NJ. Our favorite coffee flavor is...
HAZELNUT!
Oh, the irony. As I mentioned previously, I'm a black coffee drinker. But one rainy day several years ago, a co-worker was making a Dunkin' run and asked if I'd like a cup. I told him to get me whatever he was ordering for himself. He came back with hazelnut-flavored black coffee, and it tasted like HEAVEN. I drank that for a long, long time. I still do on occasion. So even though 11 states in America turn to caramel for their coffee, I wasn't surprised to read that Jersey reaches for hazelnut.
