Prosecutor: Barnegat, NJ, Woman Facing 6 Arson Charges For 2 Fires in Her Home
Authorities in Ocean County say a woman from Barnegat is facing charges in connection to two fires that were set in her home.
44-year-old Lisa Ziobro is facing two counts of aggravated arson and four counts of arson, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
At around 7:30 Tuesday evening, first responders were called to a home on Waterfall Lane for a report of a structure fire. A family dog was rescued and unharmed, however, a pet bird perished in the blaze.
Billhimer says an investigation determined that two separate fires had been intentionally set within the structure -- one on a mattress in a bedroom and another on a shower curtain in a bathroom.
He continued, "further investigation determined that Ziobro - who resided at the residence - was responsible for setting both fires."
Officials did not state why Ziobro allegedly started the fires.
Ziobro was transported to Barnegat Township Police Headquarters, processed, and then taken to the Ocean County Jail where she remains held pending a detention hearing.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
