How cool is this? A recently discovered comet is making its way through the inner solar system and passing Earth soon. Here's when you might catch a glimpse over New Jersey!

The comet, official name C/2022 E3 (ZTF), is bright green in color, and was first spotted in early 2022, according to 6abc.

After making its approach to the Sun today (January 12th), where it will gain brightness, the comet is on track to pass Earth between February 1st and 2nd, according to NASA.

If C/2022 E3 (ZTF) stays on its current path, NASA says it should be easy to spot with binoculars, and possibly with the naked eye in very dark skies.

In the meantime, you might be able to see the comet very near to the North Star, better if you've got a telescope!

Hopefully, skies over New Jersey will stay clear for us to spot this comet for ourselves on Feburary 1st.
