Report: Kafka No Longer a Candidate for Eagles Job

The Eagles coaching search continues, but one name is out of the mix.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquire the team is no longer considering Chefs quarterback coach Mike Kafka for their head coaching position.

As for the latest updates, Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will interview for the Eagles' head coaching vacancy, a day after he shut don the Saints in the Divisional round of the playoffs.  His Buccaneers defense was outstanding on Sunday, and will advance to the NFC title game against Green Bay.

Bowles, 57, went 24-40 in his four years as the Jets' head coach before being fired after the 2018 season.

The team also spent most of Sunday interviewing Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Per John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, McDaniels flew in to Palm Beach, FL and interviewed with Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffery Lurie and members of the Eagles front office.

One interesting development on Sunday night, the Los Angles Chargers hired Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, meaning Bills offensive coordinator Brian DaBoll is still available, though he has not yet been linked to the Eagles.

There was a feeling Daboll was the favorite to land the Chargers job, but Staley is now changing locker rooms in Los Angles.
