In spite of the legalization of Sports Gambling in neighboring states, New Jersey still is among the leaders in Sports Betting revenue in the United States
When New Jersey first legalized Sports Gambling back in 2018 one of the first casinos in Atlantic City to open a full-service sportsbook was Ocean Resort Casino
One asked whether New Jerseyans should be able to bet on sporting events involving New Jersey college teams and any college sporting events occurring in the state.
According to the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement, the casinos in Atlantic City along with the horse tracks that accept sports bets across the Garden State handled $748.5 million in bets in September.
In December 2019, the share of sports betting calls topped 17% for the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, which handles the 800-GAMBLER helpline.
