The Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point, New Jersey is the jewel in the crown when it comes to live performance theater in Atlantic County.

Last evening, six of our family members attended a most enjoyable performance of “Peter and The Star Catcher,” presented by the “Shaken not Stirred Players.”

The cast is so talented and the play, which is a prequel to “Peter Pan” was hilariously funny, while telling a great story about an orphaned boy with no name and a pirate, who originally had 2 hands, who becomes "Captain Hook."

if you would like to see a high quality performance, featuring a talented cast, there are performances tonight and next Friday through Sunday, October 7-9, 2022.

There are so many great moments. You will be laughing throughout.

The cast is spectacular and so audience friendly and relatable. "It features an ensemble cast, great storytelling, improvisation, wit, whimsy, subtle and not-so-subtle humor, timely references, and, of course, fairy dust," said stage manager/lighting designer Philip Pallitto.

Ocean City High School Junior, Vincent Piraino played the role of “Ted” and was a huge fan favorite.

I want to avoid picking out individual cast members, because this was truly a talented ensemble cast, that complimented each other so well.

However, Eric Williams, “Black Stache” (the future Captain Hook) is as close to a show stopper as you’ll see. Oh, by the way, his mustache is real and it comes with its own well manicured zip code.

James Dalfonso plays “Mrs. Bambrake” and “Teacher” and he is so talented and over-the-top, hilariously funny.

And, of course there’s Stelio Stathakopoulos, who played “Boy/Peter.” He was fantastic on what was his real 16th Birthday yesterday.

I could keep naming cast members, one-by-one, because they were all tremendous.

The camaraderie of this cast was sheer perfection.
