Police say one man from North Jersey and another from Delaware were arrested over the weekend on identity theft and drug-related charges in Absecon.

Cops in Absecon say they responded to TD Bank Sunday afternoon for the report of a man who was attempting to obtain an ATM card using fake identification.

According to authorities, 42-year-old William F. Newhart of Bergenfield, NJ, and 28-year-old Jesse W. Rawding of Wilmington, DE, "were found in possession of instruments used to facilitate the crime of identity theft. Additionally, officers located a substantial amount of narcotics."

Detectives say they are working to notify potential identity theft victims in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the Absecon Police Department is coordinating with other agencies to investigate additional offenses of fraud and/or forgery.

Newhart was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Mushrooms, Possession of GHB, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Disposition, CDS Distribution, Credit Card Theft, Possession of a Scanning Device, Identity Theft, Possession of False Government Documents, Possession of Document Making Material, Conspiracy, Uttering, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Rawding was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Mushrooms, Possession of GHB, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs (two counts), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Disposition, Conspiracy, and CDS Distribution.

Both Newhart and Rawding were lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
