Kristy Swanson, the actress who originated the role of 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer', has been hospitalized in Burlington County due to COVID-19.

It's hard to cover Swanson's presence in South Jersey without referencing her skepticism regarding the very illness she's being treated for. It is a bit ironic given the 80's and 90's movie star has publicly tried to downplay the coronavirus pandemic, once stating her belief that vaccine mandates are a way for the government to make more money.

She's also reportedly downplayed the science behind COVID-19 prevention, such as wearing face masks.

There's no word on whether Swanson had been vaccinated against COVID prior to contracting the virus, which she's recovering from at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, according to her Twitter, but she did post this tweet aimed at her detractors:

Swanson, who's case of coronavirus morphed into pneumonia, requiring her to be on oxygen, has high praise for her care team, tweeting, "Virtua memorial in Mount Holly, NJ, has been incredible. They are so on top it, and have a wonderful staff."

'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'

So, how exactly did Kristy Swanson end up in South Jersey? She reportedly moved here a few years ago hoping to cross paths with Congressman Jeff Van Drew, according to Patch.com.

As a fan, who hasn't always agreed with her political opinion, I'm genuinely wishing Swanson a speedy recovery.
