Cape May Life Guard in Critical Condition After Patrol Boat Capsizes
Officials say a 16-year-old rookie lifeguard in Cape May is in critical condition after a patrol boat he was paddling capsized in rough waters on Thursday morning.

According to NJ.com, the accident took place on the Philadephia Avenue beach. Norman V. Inferrera was knocked unconscious after being thrown from the boat. The Cape May Beach Patrol pulled Inferra out of the water and attempted to revive him.
The lifeguard was transported to Cape Reginal Medical Center in Middle Township. Inferrera was then flown to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden where he remains in a coma.
