A car fire Saturday morning in the parking lot of a longtime Somers Point bakery undoubtedly led to some anxious moments, as the car burned just feet away from the business.

According to Breaking AC, Somers Point firefighters were called to Chester’s Pastry Pantry Bakery at 11:38am Saturday, where a car was engulfed in flames in the parking lot.

As video posted on Facebook shows, a car parked just outside the entrance to Chester's had flames shooting out from under the hood and from underneath the vehicle.

Both of Somers Point's fire companies responded to the business with Squad 43 and Engine 44 from Company 1 extinguishing the fire with help from Engine 46 of Company 2.

Chester's Pastry Pantry Bakery has been in business at 506 New Road in Somers Point since 1965, a family business run for years by Ralph and Hilda Chester. The couple and  became known for making family recipes of Christmas cookies, gingerbread cookies and wedding cakes.

Ralph Jr. operated the bakery until he died in 2000. The Bakery is now run by his son, Ralph.

No one was injured in Saturday's fire. The bakery had some minor smoke damage.
