Report: Eagles Interview Two Candidates for OC Position
Los Angles Chargers offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and Bronco running back coach Curtis Modkins will interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for their opening at the offensive coordinator position, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Klis from 9 News in Denver..
Steichen, 35, held the OC position in the Chargers in 2020 after serving as the interim coordinator in 2019. He joined the organization in 2011 as defensive assistant under former head coach Norv Turner. He left San Diego for Cleveland for one season and returned to San Diego as part of Mike McCoy's staff.
Under Steichen, Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert had an incredible rookie season with 4,336 yards, 31 passing touchdowns, completing 66% of his passes.
According to Klis, Philadelphia has also considered Modkins, the current Broncos running back coach for the offensive coordinator opening.Getty Images
Mokins, 50, has been with Denver since 2018 and has plenty of NFL experience. He has been an offensive coordinator in Buffalo from 2010-2-12 and San Francisco for one season with Chip Kelly in 2016.
It is unclear if new head coach Nick Sirianni intends to call his own plays, its something we should find out during his introductory press conference.
