When the Eagles arrive at training camp some time this summer, there is a good chance they do so with Jalen Hurts as their new starting quarterback.

However that doesn't mean he will be the only quarterback with a chance to win the job.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen the Eagles are "likely to turn to Jalen Hurts, though they also intend to bring in competition for him."

while the Eagles are likely to turn to Jalen Hurts, though they also intend to bring in competition for him. The Eagles' starting job is not expected to automatically go to Hurts.

Possible options to compete are one of the veteran free agents available this offseason.

Some of those names include: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, Cam Newton, Kyle Allen and Colt McCoy.

They could also draft one of the incoming rookies with pick No. 6 in the NFL Draft.  One other option would be to try and try up in the draft into the top three spots and get one of the top three quarterbacks.

Trevor Lawrence is definitely going No. 1 overall, Zach Wilson is rated No. 2 and Justin Fields is the No. 3 rated QB. North Dakota State QB Trey Lance is No. 4 and Mac Jones from Alabama is No. 5.

All five of those players could go in the first round.

If the Eagles draft one of those players in round one, they would likely compete with Hurts for the starting job.  If one of the veterans come in, Hurts would likely start the season with one of the veterans beginning the season as the backup.

Either way, a new era is underway in Philadelphia.
