If You Were Tested for COVID in Ventnor, Contact the FBI

The FBI's Field Office in Newark is interested in hearing from people who had a rapid finger prick blood test for COVID-19 at a lab in Ventnor recently.

A message posted to the FBI's website reads as follows:

As stated on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website, “rapid” finger prick blood tests for COVID-19 are antibody tests and should not be used for diagnosing active cases of COVID-19. Only a test that uses a nasal swab or saliva should be used to diagnose active cases of COVID-19.

If you were recently tested for COVID-19 at Infinity Diagnostic Laboratory, located at 6715 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor, N.J., you are urged to be retested as soon as possible. Also, if you were tested using a finger prick blood test at that location, please contact the FBI at NK-Victim-Assistance@FBI.gov.

Your response is voluntary but would be useful in a federal investigation. Based on the response provided, you may be contacted by the FBI and asked to provide additional information.

The statement gives no indication as to why Federal-level investigators want to voluntarily speak with people who were tested at this particular lab.

Ventnor Police posted the same message on their Facebook page Friday evening but also offered no additional information.

Please note that the FBI is only interested in hearing from people that had that particular test at that particular laboratory. If you were tested elsewhere in Ventnor, you need not do anything.
