If you haven't had enough to scare you this year, then you might want to check out the scariest abandoned place in New Jersey.

If this is your kind of thing, and you didn't really get to explore and fulfill your need to be freaked out because 2020 wouldn't let you, then here is sort of a bucket list for you for 2021.

There are plenty of scary abandoned places across the United States, and Love Exploring has named the eeriest one in each state. So you may be wondering which one tops the list in the Garden State.

According to them, the eeriest abandoned place is the Ellis Island immigrant hospital. It has been abandoned since the mid 1950's . It remains as it was, with no restorations. You can even tour the if you wear a hard hat.

It's certainly not the only scary places to visit in our apparently very frightening Garden State. Definition.org has 3 local spots in their top 10 scariest places in New Jersey. Here are the one's they list close to home.

(10) Allaire Village...Stories of spirits moving things and playing with candles help it made the list.

(3) Spy House in Port Monmouth. Many reports claim this is among the most haunted places in the whole country.

(1) Pine Barrens. I'm just fine with hearing stories of the Jersey Devil prowling the Pine Barrens. You go, and I'll take your word for it.

There are plenty of other scary spots in the Garden State for your 2021 Creepy Bucket List, and Weird NJ is a great resource to check out before you finalize your destinations. And let's hope we can get back to doing what we want to do in 2021, whatever it may be.
