South Jersey’s 2019 Fall Foliage Guide – When Will the Leaves Change?

The fall season is here. Soon there will be a chill in the air, the sun is setting sooner, acorns are dropping at a rapid pace, football is king on Sunday afternoon and pumpkin spice coffee is everywhere. Now it seems like the only thing missing is the changing of the leaves and that will start to happen in the next couple of weeks.

I've already noticed the leaves starting to change a bit on my daily commute on the Garden State Parkway,

According to NJ Hikers, the peak time for fall foliage in the Garden State begins on October 19th through the 29th. According to the Farmer's Almanac, the fall colors are at it's peak in New England on Columbus Day weekend before heading south, which usually means we get to see the vibrant colors of fall at its peak mid to late October through early November here in the Garden State.

My least favorite part of the fall season is picking up the darn leaves after they fall. I always wait until the last minute to rake them. I know I'm in trouble when my wife starts to rake without me. She'll usually wait until a football game starts. I know I better get my butt out there and help her or else!
