Ventnor Police arrested a city man early Thursday after receiving reports that he had threatened to kill a woman in Pleasantville.

According to a release by Ventnor Police, early Thursday morning they received word from Pleasantville Police about a man, identified as Nazeer M. Sapp, who was carrying a handgun and had threatened to kill a woman in the area of Falcon Drive in Pleasantville.

According to the Pleasantville Police Department, Sapp then fled the scene in a silver Ford Escape and was thought to be headed to the 100 Block North Harvard Avenue in Ventnor City.

Ventnor Police responded to the area on Harvard Avenue where they found the vehicle in question, and saw a man standing outside a home on Harvard Avenue. The man was confirmed to be Nazeer Sapp and he was taken into custody.

Sapp was in possession of a loaded Glock 27 handgun with two fully loaded magazines.

Nazeer Sapp, 27 from Ventnor, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of large capacity magazines and other weapons charges.

He was processed on those charges and turned over to Pleasantville Police regarding the initial incident and later transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
