Vineland Salutes Veterans With Special Street Banners
I think if we say 'Thank You" to veterans a million times, that will still not be enough.
It's awesome to see the City of Vineland thanking some of their veterans in a real nice way.
They've just put up banners in the city saluting these "Hometown Heroes."
According to a Facebook page belonging to the city, municipal crews were out Thursday morning at 6th Street and Landis Avenue hanging the first four sets of banners.
These particular banners salute Cornelius Lewis, Jr; Kathleen Connelly; Dominique Sherban, and Robert Albrecht, Sr. All four have served our county as members of the military.
Apparently, there are more banners to come.
On the city's website, we found the following:
"The citizens of Vineland recognize the importance of the sacrifices made by the men and women who have and continue to serve in all our military services. From WW I to the current War on Terrorism, Vinelanders have never shied away from doing what is right for the good of others. Some gave their last full measure of devotion in doing so. All anyone needs to see is the beautiful monuments at Landis Park, dedicated to all who have served."
Anyone can purchase a banner in recognition of a veteran to be displayed in the city. All the information on the process can be found here.
