Tensions continue to heat-up as Election Day draws near.

The latest confrontation between pro- and anti-Trump supporters reportedly happened in Little Egg Harbor Township Wednesday at what has been described by several unverified social media posts as a Trump merchandise stand along Route 9.

The video, circulating on social media and posted below by the Facebook page New Jersey Corruption Watch, shows what happened.

We caution you that the video contains frequent, explicit language.

As of this writing, an official statement regarding the confrontation has not been released by Little Egg Harbor Township Police.

 

UPDATE: Thursday morning, Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department released the following statement via their Facebook page:

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at approximately 1:25 pm, officers from the Little Egg Harbor Police Department were dispatched to Route 9 near Stage Road regarding a disturbance at that location. Responding officers discovered a 57 year old male with head injuries. The Great Bay Regional Volunteer EMS (Squad 85) responded to that location and transported the victim to a hospital for treatment. Witness interviews and continued investigation by Little Egg Harbor Police Detectives resulted in summonses being issued to Thomas Sidle (31) and Keith Hornberger (32), both of Little Egg Harbor. Both were charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct. The public and media are reminded that all defendants are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
