Vineland’s Delsea Drive-In Announces Opening Date
New Jersey's one and only drive-in movie theatre, the Delsea Drive-In, announced its season opening date Wednesday, after Gov. Murphy loosened an executive order that ordered them to stay closed in March.
During his his daily COVID-19 briefing, Murphy said,,,
"Gatherings of vehicles such as drive-in movies or religious service are not a violation of my order prohibiting mass gatherings so long as all participants remain in their cars,”
The Delsea Drive-In, on Delsea Drive in Vineland, will tentatively open on Friday, May 22, with special provisions for social distancing.
The Drive-in, which opened for business in 1949, plans to limit admission to less than its 600 car capacity at first, trying to keep cars six feet apart.
The governor stipulated Wednesday that If vehicles are closer than 6 feet apart then all windows, sunroofs or convertible tops must remain closed.
This season, Delsea Drive-In plans to stick with online ticketing only, and online food and beverage ordering.
