ACPD: Suspect in Custody for April Shooting Now Charged Again

Cops in Atlantic City say a man who is already in custody for a shooting that happened in April has now been charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting in March.

25-year-old Tyquan McClarin-Lamar, according to authorities, has now been charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.

Police say just after midnight on March 22nd, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division after a 27-year-old man walked into the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Cops say that man, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was shot in the area of New York and Magellan Avenues. An investigation conducted by detectives identified McClarin-Lamar as the shooter, leading to his criminal charges.

McClarin-Lamar was served the newest batch of charges in jail as he was already being held in connection to a shooting in April. In that case, ACPD officers responded to the 100 block of North North Carolina Avenue. There, police say, "McClarin-Lamar arrived at the residence and engaged in a fight with a man inside. During the fight McClarin-Lamar pulled out a handgun and fired one shot which struck the woman. Both McClarin-Lamar and the other man fled the residence before the arrival of officers. During the fight and shooting, there were three small children in the residence."

In the April shooting, McClarin-Lamar was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess a weapon, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Tyquan McClarin-Lamar remains in custody at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
